Good Faith Estimate
Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
Under federal law (the No Surprises Act), health care providers are required to give clients who don't have insurance, or who are not using insurance, a written estimate of the expected cost of services before they begin care.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate before your first session and at any time upon request. Your estimate will be provided to you in writing, in a format you can save and print, and will be explained to you verbally when you schedule services or ask about costs.
Your Good Faith Estimate will include the expected cost of services for a 12-month period, including session type, billing codes, and estimated number of sessions. Actual costs may vary.
If your actual charges exceed your Good Faith Estimate by more than $400, you have the right to dispute the bill.
